Overview
The Apply Leave screen allows employees to submit leave requests through the ESS system without manual paperwork or HR intervention. This module simplifies the leave application process by providing an easy-to-use interface and real-time leave balance visibility.
Purpose
The purpose of the Apply Leave screen is to:
- Enable employees to apply for different types of leaves
- Ensure accurate tracking of leave requests
- Reduce manual processing and paperwork
- Maintain transparency in leave approvals
Apply Leave Screen Components
1. Leave Type Selection
- Employees can select the type of leave such as:
- Casual Leave
- Sick Leave
- Privilege Leave
- Work From Home
- Maternity/ Paternity Leave
- Bereavement Leave
- Available leave balance is displayed for the selected leave type
2. Leave Duration
- Employees can select:
- From Date
- To Date
- Supports half-day and full-day leave options where applicable.
3. Reason for Leave
- Employees must enter a reason for leave in the provided text field.
- Helps approvers understand the context of the leave request.
4. Contact Details
- Allows employees to provide contact information during leave.
5. Validate Button
Validations are performed to ensure:
- Leave balance is sufficient
- Dates are valid
- Mandatory fields are filled
- Leave applied according to the Leave Rules.
6. Submit Button
- Submits the leave request for approval.
Leave Application Workflow
- Employee navigates to the Apply Leave screen from the dashboard or quick links
- Employee selects leave type and duration
- Employee enters the reason for leave
- Employee submits the request
- Request is sent to the reporting manager for approval
- Employee can track the leave status under the requests section
System Validations
- Prevents applying leave for invalid or past dates (based on policy)
- Prevents overlapping leave requests
- Displays error messages for insufficient leave balance
- Confirms successful submission of leave request
